These trips have low mileage for the time allotted and are almost entirely coastal and day sailing in nature. There may be an overnight sail or a day when you head further offshore, but most of the time you will be close to the coast and having plenty of time to explore ashore. If you are completely new to sailing or nervous about your capabilities, these would be an ideal entry point.

Salcombe Weekend Explore | 15th June 2018

Departing from Plymouth. Join the vessel by 17:00 on 15th June 2018

Plymouth Cawsand

What we’ll we be doing: Inshore Sailing
Distance Sailed: 10nm (approx. 5hrs sailing)
Highlights: Get to know the boat, safety brief and sail around Plymouth Sound. Anchor in Cawsand.

Cawsand Salcombe

What we’ll we be doing: Inshore Sailing
Distance Sailed: 20nm (approx. 4hrs sailing)
Highlights: Learn sailing skills, navigation, sail the beautiful south coast waters, arrive in Salcombe and explore town and beaches

Salcombe Plymouth

What we’ll we be doing: Inshore Sailing
Distance Sailed: 20nm (approx. 4hrs sailing)
Highlights: More exploring of beautiful Salcombe and then sail home to Plymouth seeing the beautiful south coast and hopefully marine life along the way.

Voyage Completion

We aim to finish by 5pm on the 17th June 2018. This could change depending on conditions, tides and weather. All participants are required to assist cleaning Helen Mary R, stowing her sails, and packing everything away prior to departing the vessel.
