You may have noticed that we've been offline for a while; well we're glad to say that today we've launched our new project website with masses of new features.
Read more...We understand that taking part in a sail training voyage is expensive, with that in mind we have subsidised all of the training voyages by £200 making the voyage fee £350. We also offer our own bursary scheme for trainees who may find it difficult to raise all of the money for a voyage.
There may be a variety of ways in which you could help to raise the money for your trip. Some people take part in sponsored activities. Others manage to arrange for a local company to make a donation, or apply for funding from a local grant-giving body such as a Rotary Club. The ASTO Youth Committee have published this useful guide to fundraising for your voyage.
We offer a bursary scheme which can be applied for when you book a place on voyage.
In order to be eligible for a bursary a you must meet at least one or more of the points below.
We do not offer bursary funding to cover the full cost of a voyage. Applicants will need to demonstrate that they have personally made the effort to raise at least part of the voyage price through hard work or imagination. See this useful guide for ways in which you could raise money.
If you would like to apply for a bursary, follow these simple steps:
1.) Find the voyage you would like to sail on from the calendar here
2.) Register and book your place on the voyage
3.) Open the Funding Application form from the registration page and complete
4.) The funding panel will then meet and discuss your application
