Adults, Parents and Teachers

Morvargh Sailing Project was set up to provide experiential learning opportunities for young people aged 14-25 in the South West. Our programmes are delivered on our Class D Tall Ship, Helen Mary R which is berthed in Sutton Harbour in Plymouth.

We believe in the concept that the 'Sea is Our Classroom' and helps us deliver a rich, innovative & unique programme of voyages that compliment and assist Schools, Youth Groups, and Youth work professionals to get the most out of their young people.

There are currently two different but complimentary programmes grouped under the 'Sea is Our Classroom banner'.

Focus Point is a personal development and leadership programme designed to use the principles of experiential learning, personal challenge, and internal debriefing to create positive change in a young person. Voyages normally last for six days, and progression is through three stages, leading finally to a young person re-engaging as a volunteer.

Schools Marine Environment Workshops are delivered in partnership with the National Marine Aquarium. Run over two days the workshop is designed to be a hands-on, experiential learning experience allowing young people to study in a whole different kind of school – a 57ft floating classroom and the National Marine Aquarium's state of the art Aqua Lab.

Morvargh Sailing Project is a Community Interest Company (CIC) incorporated in January 2010. CIC's are social enterprises, with special additional features; created for community benefit and not for private advantage. As a social enterprise we use full cost voyages for adults to help fund our work with young people.

You can experience life on the ocean wave by joining our Experience Sailing Days or RYA courses run throughout the year. Don't let the kids have all the fun!
